My Project

This mixed-media painting constructs a fractured interior out of boxed spaces, broken figures, tangled lines, and abrupt fields of red, yellow, green, and black. The composition resembles a floor plan, apartment complex, hospital ward, or mental map in which each compartment holds a different emotional state. Small drawn faces appear trapped within the upper-right rooms, while the lower spaces seem increasingly disrupted by dense marks and blocked passages.

The heavy red lines cut through the painting like wounds, boundaries, or damaged corridors. They divide the work horizontally and vertically, suggesting separation between parts of the self or between memories that can no longer connect normally. Across these divisions, bright yellow lines wander unpredictably, resembling exposed wiring, anxious thought patterns, or a nervous system trying to communicate across broken rooms.

The figures in the upper-right section are especially unsettling. They feel observed, isolated, and contained, as though identity has been reduced to separate windows of expression: a face looking out, another hidden behind a wall, another lying down or withdrawing from the scene. The work turns domestic architecture into psychological confinement.

The mostly white background intensifies the sense of exposure. Nothing is buried beneath atmospheric color; instead, the fragmented structure appears starkly visible, almost clinical, like a diagram of internal distress. Painted areas and collage-like textures interrupt this blankness, implying memories or emotional scenes that cannot be fully reconstructed.

The painting reads as an image of compartmentalization: a mind divided into rooms, each holding fragments of fear, identity, observation, and unresolved experience. It suggests that the inner world is not empty, but overorganized by damage—an architecture built to contain feelings that continue to leak through every wall.
